I am pleased to announce some very exciting changes to Quinn's Dog Running, LLC!
I’ve been collaborating with others to restructure and support me and my business. I hope to find more inner balance and introduce a wider variety of services to better serve our community and pet care needs. So, in the spirit of restructuring, Quinn's Dog Running, LLC is going through a rebrand. To put forth an all-encompassing approach to pet care and convey that I don't only run with dogs, I renamed my business QDR PETS (Quinn's Dog Running + Pet Services).
Last year, I employed a couple of Wooster High School cross country runners to help me with appointments, pet sitting and
house sitting duties over the summer. One young man said it was the best job that he's ever had. I tend to agree, as I
absolutely love what I do every single day.
As business is growing, I am needing even more help. In order to provide a more efficient operation, I've decided to hire a
friend of mine to assist with daily activities. Please help me in welcoming Roberta Myers, Chief Operations Officer, to the
QDR PETS team. She has a big heart for animals (and a big heart in general) and I look forward to having her meet each of
you, whether in person or via electronic communication. Going forward, Roberta will manage scheduling, appointment
confirmations/amendments, new client onboarding, invoicing (this is a big one, as I just haven't had the capacity to manage
invoicing over the last month) and various tasks that will streamline operations so that we can offer you and your pets
exceptional service.
Furthermore, I am expanding my roster of "Canine Wellness Associates" to assist me in getting more daily appointments
completed. These folks will be background checked and insured. With more help available, I want to work with each of you to
develop a care plan and determine the desired frequency/service level of runs or walks in the coming weeks and months.
New services will be available this summer as our team continues to grow. To kickstart the newest service arm of QDR PETS,
I have offered an internship to Sam Wilds, one of the young college men who helped me last year. He will lead the dog poop
scooping and yard maintenance services we plan to offer. With summer coming up and families spending more time outside
and in their yards, we will be able to provide a weekly or bi-weekly service to keep your yard looking, smelling and staying
fresh. More on this to come later as well.
With the weather changing quickly, your dog may be outside in the dangerous heat, so I also plan to implement a mobile
doggie pool/watering setup for the hottest days so your pets don't need to skip their run due to extreme weather. This will be
fun for everybody. More info to come later!
Now comes the difficult part...
With all of these impending changes on the very near horizon, I'm going to need to take a step back from some daily activities
in order to train Roberta in her new job responsibilities.
What this means for you:
If you have an upcoming pet-sitting engagement already booked, it will be honored and fulfilled. If you count on me to provide
mid-day care (lunch check-ins, walks, etc.) those will be fulfilled as well. This break won't be for long, maybe a week or two,
and I will return stronger and more invigorated. I think most of you know, I've been battling nagging injuries lately; I'll be 40
later this year, so I need to take care of myself in this process too.
Pricing:
I started my small business in July of 2019, and I haven't raised prices since then. Honestly, I have almost every single
customer on a unique pricing structure which is only institutional knowledge stored in my memory. Therefore, we are going to
implement a new pricing scheme and structure to reflect a more realistic price for the types of services that we will be
offering. This new pricing will be rolled out starting May 1st. For some, you may not see any change. For others that have
been with me for a very long time, you will likely see some changes. I'm a firm believer in working with each client and their
situation, so if pricing is an obstacle, we can work something out.
Lastly, I've been volunteering at the Wayne County Dog Shelter every other Saturday (starting a couple months ago) taking
the shelter dogs out for runs around their property. I've even taken some off property to local parks. I want to spend more of
my time doing this type of work because it is so very gratifying to me. To make time for this, I need to expand my roster of
runners and walkers and I would appreciate your help in embracing these new folks as they are so very passionate about
animals just like me and all of us are.
I had never envisioned, in my wildest dreams, that this business could grow to where it is today, but I don't believe I've even
scratched the surface. It's been with your help, referrals and patience through this growth process that I'm able to do what I do
everyday. Thank you for your continued support moving forward in this new phase of business. If you have any questions or
concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. I will do my best to get back with you as soon as possible.
I look forward to getting more information out to you soon.
Sincerely,
Nathan C. Quinn
